Born and raised in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Dean has been fishing British Columbia’s lakes and rivers for over 40 years. He became involved in the sport-fishing industry 23 years ago and has been dedicated to the preservation of the White Sturgeon ever since. Dean is heavily involved in the fishing community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Fraser Valley Salmon Society and the Technical and Community working groups for the Recovery of White Sturgeon. Dean actively shares his passion and works with children teaching them to fish and respect the importance of conservation.

Dean is very connected to the river and all the people who share it. He has established solid relationships with many First Nations Bands, including the Yale First Nations who settle along the shores of our rivers.

Dean’s true passion is Sturgeon and he lives for the anticipation of not knowing how big the next fish could be or how many times it will jump. Dean also enjoys Spey casting double hand fly rods for Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. He likes finding a private piece of river and trying to cast near perfect loops and capturing everything in his surroundings.

Dean loves to share days on the rivers with new guests and friends sharing his knowledge about conservation and all our fish species. Ensuring that this resource is here for us to share with our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for many generations is the key to feeling fulfilled.

Matthew Clive is a true BCer born and raised and comes from a long line of passionate fishermen. Some of his fondest memories are of fishing with his family in BC.

At the age of 14 Matthew began working summers for West Coasty Resorts, one of BCs largest sport fishing resort operators. Over the next 8 years Matt held many positions including: guiding, dock operations and Chef. That`s right, Matt is also a red Seal Chef

After Matt finished high school he took a break from the fishing industry while he completed his diploma in Business Management from world-renowned BCIT in Burnaby British Columbia.

In 2009 Matthew combined his business diploma and his love fishing into when he began working year round in the home office of one of BCs largest sport fishing operators managing airport operations sales and business development.

In 2011 Matthew is thrilled to bring his skills and experience to Great River Fishing Adventures. With a focus on bringing together fantastic customer service and world-class fishing, Matthew hopes to make Great River Fishing Adventures your choice for your next fishing trip!

For Leanne, being near the water and the mountains is a must. This is the reason she calls Chilliwack home. She grew up camping and fishing, and was fortunate to spend a lot of time in the outdoors.

She’s a very busy hockey mom, dedicating countless days at the hockey rinks. When time permits, she’s also very active in the local community. When not working or at the rink, she enjoys spending time with her two kids. She also enjoys exploring and hiking along the area’s many rivers, gardening, and reading too.

Born in Europe, Chris was introduced to his first fishing trip at the early age of 3. There was something special about that day, because to this date, he still remembers it like it was yesterday. It changed his life forever.

For Chris, fishing has been a way of life, and he has been actively involved in the guiding industry for almost 15 years, both as a successful business owner and professional sport-fishing guide.

His passion for fishing, his love for the outdoors, his drive to succeed, and his belief in a high standard of hospitality and customer service, are all elements that he strives to bring to every guided outing.
